At King Orchards, our harvest season begins with strawberry u-pick in mid June and ends with u-pick apples in the fall. We strive to provide the best orchard u-pick experience possible, offering a wide range of u-pick fruit throughout the summer and fall months.
"There is nothing more fun than picking your own fruit!" -Betsy King
Just you and your family! We provide the picking vessels (quarts, buckets, bags depending on the fruit). Feel free to bring your own box or bag to transfer into but we provide those as well!
We encourage you to bring the whole family! Our trees are trimmed so that the young and old are easily able to pick!
We do not charge to get into the orchard; you just pay for the fruit that you pick.
Check into the market first. We will then show you where and what we are picking that day. Pick your fruit, then bring it back to the market and pay.
Yes we do! We offer pitting for both sweet and tart cherries!
We are open for picking from 9am - 5pm. The markets close at 6pm during the growing seasons.
We love dogs but due to food safety laws, we cannot allow dogs in active growing areas. We do have designated areas where you can walk your dog, though.
Yes, we offer picking at both markets! However, start and end dates as well as specific crops may vary slightly from location to location so check our website, Facebook, or give us a call for the most up to date schedule.
Located in the heart of Michigan's famed cherry growing region with hills over looking Torch Lake and Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay, there are spectacular views throughout the orchard.
We are just 35 minutes north of Traverse City and 45 minutes south of Petoskey, offering two farm markets for convenient pick your own fruit from practically anywhere in Northern Michigan.
Our trees are specifically pruned to meet the needs of our u-pickers with easy to reach fruit for children and adults. When you pick your own fruit, you get to wander through our beautiful orchard that we are so proud of and see exactly where your fruit is coming from.
